We said goodbye in the theater in 2019 to the notes of "Shim Chung", the 16th world premiere created by International Opera Theater of Philadelphia (IOT) in Città della Pieve.

2020 was to have been the year of tribute to the great Maestro Raffaello for the 500th anniversary of his death. A modern opera was to have been staged in August in Teatro degli Avvaloranti, after a month of preparation.

SINCE 2004, the ''International Live Staged Opera” project in Città della Pieve of IOT, directed by Karen Lauria Saillant and sponsored by the Municipality, has been part of the cultural landscape of our city and has never stopped. For 16 years young artists from all over the world have found themselves on the stage of our theater, creating a true community of cultures and bringing exchange, freshness and vitality to the Pievese summer, all this through Music and Opera, involving associations, cultural activities, commercial activities and our citizens in their initiatives.

THIS YEAR we want to retrace the stages of the work carried out in these years through the video projections of Diego Parbuono - ''Fantasy and Reality '' on the 10 th and 13 th of September at 9.30 pm in Piazza Plebiscito - and the photographs of Ornella Tiberi – from the 10 th -30 th of September through a widespread exhibition in the historic center - a photographic and sound journey along the streets and shop windows of our historic center.

Each photo displayed in the window has its own QR Code from which you can listen to a few minutes of audio of the operatic work depicted.
